Les Gets - A great resort for families

If you're looking for somewhere to take the family this winter then the small Alpine Resort of Les Gets is exactly what you have been searching for.

Nestled high up in the French Alps the resort sits at an altitude of 1172 metres and is one of the fourteen resorts that make up the Portes du Soleil (Gates of sunshine). With Lac Leman (Europe's biggest lake) on one side of the resort and Mont Blanc (Europe's highest mountain) on the other side of the resort, Les Gets benefits from an excellent snow record. There is a great selection of Pistes all linking together and leading back down to the resort centre.

Les Gets is a mainly car free zone with great improvements having been made over the past couple of years. The outside ice rink in the centre of the Les Gets village is always a great hit with kids of all ages and every Monday the tourist office meet new visitors to Les Gets to give them a personal welcome to the resort and offer them a free glass of Vin Chaud or Chocolate Chaud.

Skiing for the kids in Les Gets is also extremely well catered for with a specially adapted area 'Le Grand Cry' which has a selection of obstacles for kids to ski around, and Indian tents to visit enroute to get their faces painted.

During the lead up to Christmas it is also possible to visit the magical home of Santa. His pixies, gnomes and forest elves will tell you the story of how Santa ended up living in Les Gets.

All the restaurants, mountain bars and cafes in Les Gets have extremely welcoming and friendly staff who are more then happy welcoming children into their establishments.

Ultimately you will struggle to find a friendlier and welcoming resort, which offers the convenience and location of Les Gets, with a fantastic snow record.
