Austria is well known for its après ski atmosphere and Nassfeld is no exception. There are plenty of lively bars and huts as you make your way down the mountain and usually all are straining to the sounds of cheesy, if not, strangely appealing, Euro pop!

One of the favourites is Jokl's Hutt which can be found on the last section of Nassfeld's longest run, the 7.6km Carnia. Here, many skiers and boarders stop for a breather and a schnapps or three before making their way down to the gondola station where the hugely popular Bären Hutte can be found.

It gets a little busy towards the end of the skiing day but the atmosphere is fantastic and truly Austrian!

The log cabin style watering hole has a roaring log fire, serves good traditional Austrian food and plenty of local beer and Glühwein to keep you going before, like everyone else, you take to the dance floor in you ski boots!
