Fondly named the Fondue or Skidoo restaurant by us and friends this is a favourite lunch or drinks stop if we are over on the Swiss side.

You will find it tucked in just behind and below the Point de Ripaille in Swiss area of Les Crosets. If you are looking for a great midway stopping point for a truly rustic winter lunch, don?t look any further.

When we say rustic, that is no exaggeration. Outside the very tiny building you will find basic tables and benches to rest your weary ski legs. There are a few upturned logs that make great stools if you get to sit at the head of the table. If there are no free tables outside, take a look at the side of the building, they do not mind you helping yourselves to set up a new table and bench! There are a few tables and chairs inside the tiny tiny restaurant building, but what you really come here for is the view. It is truly magnificent. You are right on top of the Dents Midi and Dents Blanche, and it has been voted one of the top five views from a restaurant in the world. So a clear day, with blue skies is the perfect time to come.

The menu is basic and most of the ingredients they have produced themselves. We have voted their fondue the most alcoholic and authentic in the portes du Soliel!

Lunch can be paid for in swiss francs or euros.

Oh yes, the final reason why we love it, if you don?t fancy carrying on down the long grand paradis run, just ask the owner for a tow on his skidoo and he will take you back up to the top of the Ripaille drag run which overlooks the infamous Swiss Wall. Cool hey?
