The very popular and successful resort of Val d'Isere has everything you need to have a fantastic skiing holiday. An extensive reliable lift system, great snow, a huge skiing area and a glacier for summer skiing makes Val d'Isere one of the most successful skiing resorts in Europe. As part of the Espace Killy Ski Area, you can also ski in nearby Tignes.

In the winter Val d'Isere attracts all sorts of people looking for an up-market high quality place to ski and après ski, one third of which are Brits! For the non-skiier in Val d'Isere you can try driving on ice, ice-skating, indoor swimming and even a baking class for you budding chefs!

In the summer, Val d'Isere is a lot more relaxed. Aside from being able to ski the Glacier there are a wide range of other activities to keep you busy. You can choose from hiking, road biking, mountain biking, white water rafting, kayaking, climbing, parapenting and golf, and if that has left you feeling exhausted you can always spend a day by the lake or take the chairlift up the mountain to take in the breathtaking views.

In the evenings the après ski in Val d'Isere is excellent. The bars differ widely so there is something to suit everyone's tastes and there is a shuttle bus operating until midnight if you are staying out of town. There are also plenty of restaurants in Val d'Isere but be careful, eating out can be expensive. There are lots of reasonably priced places too so check the menu before you settle in somewhere! Most of the restaurants serve traditional Savoyarde meals but there is also an American Diner and several places offering pizza.

The closest airports to Val d'Isere are Geneva, about 112 miles away, and Lyons which is about 137 miles from the resort. You can also take the Eurostar from London or Ashford to Bourg St Maurice, and then catch a bus to Val d'Isere.
