Nassfeld Ski Arena ranks amongst Austria's top ten ski destinations and with its excellent snow record, modern lift system and virtually no queues, it's easy to see why.

Despite this impressive cv, Nassfeld remains relatively unknown to the Brits but is a popular destination with other European ski and board enthusiasts. Owing to its location on the border with Italy, the area has many hours of sunshine while also having a fantastic snow record because of its altitude and excellent snow canon coverage. The Millennium Express, the longest gondola in the Alps takes just 17 minutes to transport you to an altitude of over 2,000m giving you access to 110km of slopes, serviced by 30 state of the art lifts.

From the top, stunning views of both the Austrian and Italian Alps can be enjoyed as well a good selection of mountain bars and restaurants.

The longest run, the Carnia is 7.6 km long and you can even try night skiing as part of the run is opened every Wednesday night making the longest floodlit run in the Alps.

The majority of skiing in Nassfeld very much favours the beginner and intermediate skier and it is a popular choice with families. There is an excellent English speaking ski school with the option of flexible private and group lessons. The children are well catered for with a 'Bobo' mini club for young children and a Kinder club for older kids.

Beginners

Beginners are well catered for with 7 wide and gentle blue slopes and an excellent English speaking ski school.

Intermediates

There's more than enough to keep intermediate skiers challenged with 24 well groomed red runs to enjoy including the longest run, the Carnia.

Advanced

There are a number of challenging reds to enjoy as well a four black runs to get the adrenalin going.

Snowboarders

Boarders are well catered for. There are two parks with quarter pipes, kickers, table tops and a snow cross park which was the venue of the 2004 Junior World Championships.

Off piste

You'll never be short of untouched snow to enjoy and there is some good off piste skiing with the option to ski off piste into Italy.
