You can get the best of both worlds just 1.45m drive from Geneva. Sion with its medieval city and cosmopolitan feel with great shops restaurants. Les Masses/Les Collons and Thyon 2000 are little know ski resorts on the edge of the 4 valleys system which you can ski to Verbier in less then 2 hours with over 400km of piste and more off piste then you can do in one season.
Les Masses has an authentic feel of traditional Switzerland with a lovely traditional restaurant and also has a lift into the Thyon 2000 resort above. If you are looking to escape the crowds or ski Verbier without the Verbier budget this is the place for you. It also offers many outdoor activities for summer holidays too.
