Best start to the season since 1998!

This is AMAZING! It has almost not stopped snowing for three days now. This is reported to be the best start to the season since 1998, with over 80cm in the last three days. We can´t keep up with it at the moment and are snow clearing balconies and drive ways two to three times a day. If only the lifts were open and we could get out there! Eagerly waiting for Saturday. Come and join us!

A message from Snowcrazy 14th November 07...

Where?s your global warming now Tony Blair?
It?s dumping with snow in La La Rosiere.
Not a few inches but two feet or more,
It?s snow so deep I couldn?t get out of my door!

The sun will be out tomorrow.
But it?s minus 15 and cold.
It?s about time you learnt to ski
Before you get old!

So get off your ass,
Leave your worries behind.
Get knee deep in powder
And grab some peace of mind.

I have fat skis waiting
So what do you say?
Come and join me,
mike@snowcrazy.co.uk!

Bring it on!

It´s the 9th November 2007 and we have woken up to a white blanket of snow here in La Rosiere. It´s very cold too so the signs are good. More snow due today and tonight. Bring it on!

Chucking it down!

La Rosiere has had over 20cms of snow yesterday with superb off-piste conditions and excellent snow on-piste and it's still snowing today. A welcome relief to keep us going to the end of season with low temperatures to keep everything in great condition. We still have some availability this coming weekend if you can get a last minute trip booked!

10cms recieved and more on its way!!!

We've had about 10cms in beautiful La Rosiere and there's more on it's way. A huge dump is expected on Sunday. We've heard from many people that La Rosiere's slopes are in better condition than Val D'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne, The Three Valleys and the northern alps! Why not come out and enjoy the powder?!

Still snowing in La Rosiere!

After 1/2 metre of fresh snowfall on Tuesday and a powder day on Wednesday, our forecast 2cms today is more likely to be closer to 1/2 metre again as it's chucking it down. So much so we had to come off the mountain this morning! Check out our lastminute Special Offers and get out here!

Buckets of snow on its way in La Rosiere!

We've got over 1/2 metre of snow forecast to fall on La Rosiere in the next few days, just in time for our guests arriving in our stunning chalets next week, they're going to have a fantastic time! The skies have turned and the wind has picked up, bringing the snow that we are eagerly waiting for.

Fresh snow clear skies

Woke up to the sound of icy roads and a good covering of snow. The temperature has finally dropped which is good news with more snow forcast at the weekend.

Its finally chucking it down in La Rosiere!

Wednesday 6th December 06...After a quick and sad disappearance of the snow from a couple of weeks ago, we have dutifully been chanting snow songs and doing snow dances on the roof of the chalet and finally it´s chucking it down! Yippee ;-)

Over 40cm of snow...great start to the season!

We've had over 40cm of snow here in stunning La Rosiere, everything looks lovely, the snow-ploughs are clearing the roads and the bumboards and sledges have had their first airing of the season! Excellent fun. A super start to the season when only 6cm was forecast...we ALWAYS get double the amount of snow forecast ;-)

Snow down to 850m

Woke up this morning to the sound of the snow plough battling to clear the fresh snow overnight. It looks as though we have had around 10cm outside the chalet and the snowline is way down the valley in Bourg-St-Maurice. Clear blue skies now and no wind, beautiful!!

Mad French Kite-Skier seen today!

Our resident mad frenchman Seb has been seen kite-skiing ALREADY! Up on the boarder pass, between France and Italy and where the one of the biggest Kite-skiing championships is held, there is already enough snow and some wind for Seb to get out there and practise his skills! Awesome...

Hurrah! The first snowflakes have fallen!

Hurrah! The first snowflakes have fallen! We had a welcome surprise over the weekend with our first snowfall AT RESORT LEVEL! The road over to Italy is now closed with moderate snow above 2000m. The view over to Les Arcs, La Plagne and up to Val D'Isere is amazing, with snow covered peaks and although cloud cover has increased, we are still getting blue skies. A great start to the season and this means a good base should form.

Its getting cold!

November 6th
We've still got brilliant sunny days out here in the beautiful Tarentaise valley, but the temperature has dropped considerably, allowing the ground to cool down and freeze in preparation of a good base for the coming season. Snow should be on its way very soon, yipee!
