Courchevel is one of the world?s best and biggest skiing areas. With five main areas to stay and good access to the rest of the Three Valleys, the skiing opportunities in Courchevel are huge.

In the winter Courchevel attracts a wide range of visitors. At Courchevel 1850, with its top class hotels and restaurants, you will find the Parisian jet setters but for those on a budget the lower villages of 1550, 1650, Le Praz and la Tania have plenty to offer. The Forum in Courchevels centre has plenty to keep non-skiers busy such as swimming, ice-skating, climbing and bowling to name a few.

Although more famous for its winter sports, Courchevel is becoming increasingly popular during the summer months. Some of the lifts are open to allow access to the stunning walking and mountain biking trails. There is an outdoor swimming pool in La Tania, a golf course at Meribel and you can go rock climbing in the surrounding area too!

The main nightlife in Courchevel is found in 1850, although 1650 has several après ski bars. As a general rule the nightlife gets better the higher you go but be careful, après ski here isn?t cheap. Courchevel 1850 has two Michelin starred restaurants for that special occasion. Otherwise there are many more excellent places to choose from serving anything from traditional French cuisine, Savoyarde specialities and hearty Italian dishes. 1550, Le Praz and La Tania are generally very quiet if you want to escape the crowds.

There are also plenty of bars and a couple of nightclubs in Courchevel 1850 and 1650, which are open until the early hours. Prices vary and those on a budget may wish to head to the several British run bars which tend to be a bit cheaper.

Courchevel is easy to reach by plane and train. The nearest airports are Chambéry (110 km.) Geneva (149 km.) and Lyon (180 km.) The Eurostar ski train goes directly from Waterloo to Moutiers, lwhich is just over 10 miles from Courchevel 1850.

You can also take your car by train from Calais to Moutiers through Rail Europe.
