Chalet Chantelauze, La Rosiere is a 16+2 bed chalet with hot tub in the most stunning location offering the perfect place for a wonderful winter holiday. The chalet is built of local stone and wood and has a traditional slate roof. The unobstructed views from the front south facing balconies are absolutely breathtaking, spanning through the forest for miles across the valley. On the grand marble terrace is a relaxing hot tub from where you can appreciate this truly special location whilst sipping a glass of champagne!

Our chalets are suitable for individuals, couples, small or large groups or families and corporate breaks. We are able to offer holidays for larger groups of up to 42 in our three chalets in La Rosiere which are very close to one another. If you are a smaller group, a chalet holiday is a great way to meet new friends. Everybody is welcome! We can also offer 2 week-2 resort holidays in La Rosiere and La Plagne.
The chalet is suitable for individuals, couples, small or large groups or families and corporate breaks. We are now able to offer holidays for larger groups of up to 42 with accommodation in our three luxury chalets which are very close to one another. If you are a smaller group, a chalet holiday is a great way to meet new friends. Everybody is welcome!
Facilities
On entering the chalet, you will find a ski rack and a boot warmer in the hallway thus ensuring you have cosy toes each morning. Walk through the hallway and into the large lounge and you will find yourself in a beautiful and comfortable area where you will enjoy relaxing in front of the log fire. The lounge has a high vaulted ceiling and is tastefully decorated and wonderfully inviting with ample seating, complimented by a home entertainment system and a small games area with table football, darts, table tennis etc. Together, this open plan living area totals over 60m2.
The separate dining room is both bright and appealing in the mornings and the perfect setting for your evening meal. There is a generous seating area and purpose built kitchen where you can smell the gorgeous aromas of your food being prepared.
The seven bedrooms are bright and very comfortable. Three of the bedrooms are en-suite, one with a jacuzzi bath and the other four bedrooms are very conveniently paired off, with each pair sharing a bathroom offering suites ideal for families or small groups of friends. Chalet Chantelauze has copious amounts of hot water. The bathrooms are spacious and modern, three of which have a bath and a shower. The remaining bathrooms have a shower only. As well as fluffy towels, we add small extras like complimentary relaxing essential oils for the bath and candles for the ultimate chillout experience.
Please refer to the floor plans when booking as you may wish to select a particular room or floor. Chalet Chantelauze is a non-smoking chalet and ashtrays are provided on balconies for smokers.
Location
La Rosiere, a delightful winter and summer resort in the Tarentaise valley in France.
La Rosière is a wonderfully attractive well-kept French secret. It has a lovely traditional rustic Savoyard feel with low rise chalet-style accommodation built mostly in wood and stone. With 150km of pistes, La Rosière is part of the large Espace San Bernardo, linked to La Thuile in Italy since 1984. The area is the origin of the loveable St. Bernard dogs, the cuddly mountain rescuers, still to be found in resort today (a real treat is in store for the kids when they visit the St. Bernard dogs). There are spectacular panoramic views from La Rosière across the Tarentaise valley to Les Arcs, up towards St Foy, Val D'Isere and Tignes and down towards Bourg St Maurice, Aime and Moutiers, as well as impressive views of Mont Blanc from the slopes.
La Rosière is at an altitude of 1850m with the highest on-piste skiing at 2640m and is south facing, enjoying lovely sunshine with an enviable record for excellent snow conditions and huge dumps of snow (*as featured in the Where to Ski and Snowboard Guide 2006). It often has the best snow in the area whilst other resorts are suffering and it lasts right to the end of the season. Queues are rare, even during high season.

Child-Friendly Resort...La Rosière has won the accolade of 'Famille Plus Montagne' which is awarded to resorts who specialise in welcoming families and their children. The selection is very strict, based on a 9 point Quality Charter with criteria relating to safety requirements, teaching methods, medical cover in resort, a lost child service, sheltered areas and good quality facilities in crèches, nurseries and kindergartens.
Location...Chalet Chantelauze is located in a beautiful wooded area, 5-10 mins walk from the resort centre and the ski lifts. The ski bus stops outside the chalet and we operate a private minibus shuttle service to take you the short distance to the slopes.
The skiing...In our experience and compared to the other better known resorts, La Rosière is exceptionally well suited to beginners and intermediates, with plenty of wide-open cruisey reds and blues. There are several gentle slopes running back into La Rosière which make that last run home nice and easy. More advanced skiers will also find the area to their liking, with some challenging reds and blacks. The most testing ski area is the Touraisse sector, which also has some of the best off-piste. Wannabe powder hounds will find a lot of ungroomed areas in between the pistes and real powder jockeys will love the possibilities offered by the north facing wooded slopes in La Thuile.
Ski Hosting...good fun, great company, great days on the mountain! It is our pleasure to show you the beauty of our resort and we love skiing with you. We make sure that on the first day you rediscover your ski legs without overdoing it. We show you where to find all the local amenities, the ski school meeting points, local restaurants and bars, where to find a newspaper, the chemist and the supermarket. On the piste we will show you different gradient runs and recommend some of our favourites. On the second day we will take you over the border into Italy and back. The third day is up to you, we can take you to a neighbouring resort which can either be in Les Arcs, Tignes, Val d'Isere or Sainte Foy.
