Welcome to Chalet Kammleitn, a traditional Austrian chalet, nestled in a tiny hamlet close to the ski resort of Nassfeld, providing everything you want, and more, from your winter alpine holiday.
We have created a haven where you will be as happy staying in as you are out on the ski slopes. Delicious food and wine in abundance, goes without saying, as do comfortable rooms, roaring log fires, and a welcoming environment. So when we say ?home from home? here at Chalet Kammleitn, we really mean it.

Our Chalet is just a few minutes drive from The Millennium Express, the cable car with the longest lift line of the entire Alps, transporting you to an altitude of just over 2000 meters, in only 17 minutes.

Debbie and Spencer own and run Chalet Kammleitn, and are both keen skiers, boarders and mountain bikers, and have first-hand knowledge of the Nassfeld ski area. We offer our guests a warm and friendly welcome, and start your holiday off with a welcome drink, and are willing to answer any questions, with regards to the various activities.

Nassfeld is a must for both summer and winter sports enthusiasts alike. It has the largest and most versatile skiing area in the sunny south of Austria, with 30 high-tech cable cars and lifts, 110 km of snow-certain pistes for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Add to that the 25 ski huts and mountain restaurants, who could ask for more!

There is a free, regular shuttle bus, which stops just 200 metres from our Chalet, taking you, within minutes, to the gateway of The Millennium Express, where you can purchase your ski pass.
The longest run, is the renown Carnia run, from an altitude of 1822m, and a piste run of 7.6 km, right into the valley of Tröpolach - the perfect end to the perfect days skiing!

There are many other winter activities in this area, including 2 good cross-country trails of medium difficulty, Nordic walking trails, toboggan runs, a curling rink and winter horse riding. Cross-country skiing, ice skating, speed skating, ice hockey and ice golf.

Chalet Kammleitn is just off the B111 road, giving you easy access to all these activities, and only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful town of Hermagor, where you will find banks, post office, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars.

Chalet Kammleitn has been newly renovated, and offers our guests a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The 8 bedrooms all have en-suite facilities. We have a selection of twin, double, triple and 4 bedded rooms, some with balcony and having the fantastic views of the Italian Carnic Alps, and the Nassfeld slopes.

Prices are based on Chalet Board.
* The buffet breakfast is typically Austrian, with a selection of cereals, yoghurts, meat and cheese platters, freshly baked bread, boiled or scrambled eggs, fruit juice, freshly brewed coffee and a selection of teas.

* Afternoon Tea is served around our roaring Log Fire with a choice of tea, freshly brewed coffee, hot chocolate or Gluhwein, plus freshly made cakes.

* In the evenings, we offer delicious, freshly prepared 4-course meal, to include an excellent salad buffet and good, complimentary wine, with freshly brewed coffee to follow.

Vegetarians are also catered for - please advise at the time of booking.
Early suppers are available for young children.

Flight and airport transfer advice available. Transfers arranged at very reasonable prices. All ski equipment hire and ski school can be pre-booked, and we assist our guests at the ski hire shop, to ensure a smooth start to your holiday.

We accept small and large groups, singles, couples and families. You do not have to book the entire chalet, and we do not charge under-occupancy supplements.

Short Breaks are also possible. Please ask for details.

Location

Chalet Kammleitn is nestled in a quiet, countryside setting, just a few minutes drive from The Millennium Express gondola. Set almost on the banks of the River Gail, and with direct access to the R3 cycle route, that expands over 70kms in length in one direction, makes Chalet Kammleitn the perfect choice for both summer and winter holidays.
During the winter months, Nassfeld offers you 110km of pistes, suitable for all levels of skiers and boarders, plus an amazing amount of off-piste for the more confident. The Carnia, is the longest run at 7.6km in length, and we have the longest floodlit piste in the Alps at 2.2km which is open every Wednesday night. Snowboarders are also well catered for, with two board parks with quarter pipes, kickers, table tops and a snow cross park, plus the natural snowboard area at Kronalp.

Nassfeld Ski Arena is located right on the Italian/Austrian borders, and has been aptly named as a little known gem of a resort, in the sunny province of Carinthia..

Due to its high altitude and comprehensive snow canon coverage, Nassfeld boasts of excellent snow coverage throughout the winter ski season. It is also the largest and most modern ski resort in Carinthia, and has been placed in the Top Ten of Austria's best ski resorts.

The Millennium Express gondola is the longest in Europe, and takes just 17 minutes to transport you to an altitude of just over 2000 meters. The views of both the Austrian and Italian Alps are simply stunning.

In the summer months, our climate boasts of long, hot summer days. Chalet Kammleitn guests, can relax in our beautiful, country-side gardens. Or hire a bike, taking it easy along the riverside tracks, trekking in the mountains, or join in the various multi-activities, such as canyoning, white-water rafting, mountain climbing, mountain biking.
We can also offer you golfing breaks, as Carinthia has 11 wonderful golf courses, including the Bled course in Slovenia and Tarvisio in Italy. One of our most popular breaks is our "Golfing in 3 Countries", where we arrange for you to golf in Austria, Italy and Slovenia. You tell us in which order you want to play, and we reserve your tee-off times. Both the Austrian and Italian golf courses are less than 43kms away, and Bled is under 95kms.
