Facilities

The chalet has recently been refurbished transforming it into a stylish, comfortable, light and inviting chalet with top quality fixtures and fittings. The chalet has wonderful south facing views overlooking the Tarentaise Valley and the huge windows flood the chalet with natural light.

On entering the chalet you leave your skis in the rack, boots on the pegs and ski clothes on the hooks in the spacious heated boot and ski room so everything can dry nicely overnight. On the first floor there are two twin rooms, one of which can be made into a triple. They share a bathroom with bath, sink and WC. There is also the sauna with adjacent shower room and access to the outdoor hot tub in which to relax after a day on the slopes.

Going upstairs to the middle floor you will walk into the spacious open plan dining and charming lounge area with ample seating for up to 12 people. The roaring log fire ensures the room is always warm and inviting and the huge panoramic windows ensure lots of natural light fills the chalet. On the middle floor there is a double with ensuite bathroom with shower, sink and WC. On the top floor there are two rooms, a double and twin which share a bathroom with bath, 2 sinks & WC and there is a TV/chill out area on the upper floor also.

Chalet Caspar can sleep an additional 2 people. Chalet Caspar has copious amounts of hot water. We offer fluffy towels, comfy slippers and luxurious bathrobes.

Chalet Caspar is a non-smoking chalet and ashtrays are provided on balconies for smokers. Please refer to the floor plans when booking as you may wish to select a particular room or floor. Your Chalet Hosts eat dinner with you and live out.

Chalet Caspar is located in a beautiful wooded area of La Rosiere 1850m and is tucked away in a secluded spot, perfect for your privacy and peace and quiet.

La Rosiere, a delightful winter and summer resort in the Tarentaise valley in France.

La Rosiere is a wonderfully attractive well-kept French secret. It has a lovely traditional rustic Savoyard feel with low rise chalet-style accommodation built mostly in wood and stone. With 150km of pistes, La Rosiere is part of the large Espace San Bernardo, linked to La Thuile in Italy since 1984. The area is the origin of the loveable St. Bernard dogs, the cuddly mountain rescuers, still to be found in resort today (a real treat is in store for the kids when they visit the St. Bernard dogs). There are spectacular panoramic views from La Rosiere across the Tarentaise valley to Les Arcs, up towards St Foy, Val D'Isere and Tignes and down towards Bourg St Maurice, Aime and Moutiers, as well as impressive views of Mont Blanc from the slopes.

La Rosiere is at an altitude of 1850m with the highest on-piste skiing at 2640m and is south facing, enjoying lovely sunshine with an enviable record for excellent snow conditions and huge dumps of snow (*as featured in the Where to Ski and Snowboard Guide 2006). It often has the best snow in the area whilst other resorts are suffering and it lasts right to the end of the season. Queues are rare, even during high season.

Ski Hosting...good fun, great company, great days on the mountain! It is our pleasure to show you the beauty of our resort and we love skiing with you. We make sure that on the first day you rediscover your ski legs without overdoing it. We show you where to find all the local amenities, the ski school meeting points, local restaurants and bars, where to find a newspaper, the chemist and the supermarket. On the piste we will show you different gradient runs and recommend some of our favourites. On the second day we will take you over the border into Italy and back. The third day is up to you.
